Sevilla: Flamenco, Tapas & Andalusian Magic
Fall in love with Sevilla like I did! From the stunning Alcázar to authentic flamenco shows and endless tapas tours - this Spanish gem has everything.
Sevilla… where do I even begin? This city completely captured my heart from the moment I stepped off the train. The combination of Moorish architecture, passionate flamenco, incredible food, and some of the warmest people I’ve ever met made this one of my most memorable travel experiences.
First Impressions: Pure Andalusian Magic
Walking through Sevilla feels like stepping into a living postcard. The orange trees lining every street, the intricate tilework, the sound of flamenco guitar drifting from hidden courtyards - every corner tells a story.
The Alcázar: A Palace Straight from a Fairy Tale
Real Palace of Alcázar This might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever filmed! The Mudéjar architecture is absolutely mind-blowing. Every room, every courtyard, every detail is more stunning than the last. Pro tip: book your tickets in advance - this place gets BUSY!
Gardens of Paradise The gardens are where I spent most of my time. The peacocks roaming freely, the orange groves, the fountains… I could have stayed here all day just soaking in the beauty.
Cathedral & Giralda Tower
Sevilla Cathedral The largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and you can feel the grandeur the moment you walk in. Climbing the Giralda Tower is a must - the views over the city are absolutely incredible, especially at sunset.
Columbus Connection Fun fact I learned: Christopher Columbus is buried here! As someone who loves history, this gave me chills.
Barrio Santa Cruz: Getting Lost in the Best Way
This historic Jewish quarter is a maze of narrow cobblestone streets, hidden plazas, and flower-filled balconies. I got completely lost here (classic me!) but discovered the most charming tapas bars and local artisan shops.
Plaza de Santa Cruz The perfect spot to sit with a café con leche and people-watch. The locals are so friendly - I had the best conversations here!
Flamenco: The Soul of Sevilla
Authentic Flamenco Show Watching real flamenco in its birthplace was absolutely mesmerizing. The passion, the intensity, the raw emotion - no video can capture what it feels like to experience this live.
Casa de la Guitarra Intimate flamenco performances in a traditional setting. I was literally two feet away from the dancers - you can feel the power and precision of every movement.
Tapas Culture Like Nowhere Else
El Rinconcillo The oldest tapas bar in Sevilla (established 1670!). They still write your bill on the bar in chalk. The jamón ibérico here is life-changing.
Triana District Crossing the river to Triana opened up a whole new world of authentic local spots. Less touristy, more real Sevilla life.
Mercado de Triana Fresh ingredients, local vendors, and the best olives I’ve ever tasted. Perfect for breakfast or a light lunch.
Behind the Scenes Adventures
What Didn’t Make the Vlog:
- I accidentally walked into a private flamenco rehearsal (so embarrassing but so cool!)
- Got caught in a sudden rainstorm at Plaza de España
- My drone got stuck in an orange tree (thankfully rescued by helpful locals!)
- Ate so many tapas I had to nap in Parque de María Luisa
Plaza de España: Architectural Marvel
This semi-circular plaza is absolutely stunning! Built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, it’s one of the most photographed spots in Spain for good reason. Each province of Spain is represented in beautiful tile work.
Star Wars Connection Yes, this is where they filmed parts of Attack of the Clones! As a movie nerd, I was geeking out.
Budget Breakdown (4 Days)
- Accommodation: €40/night (boutique hotel in Santa Cruz)
- Food: €30/day (so many tapas!)
- Attractions: €45 total (Alcázar, Cathedral, flamenco show)
- Transport: €20 (mostly walking, some buses)

Total: Around €280 for 4 incredible days
What Surprised Me Most
The siesta culture is REAL! Everything closes from 2-5pm, but then the city comes alive again in the evening. Dinner at 10pm? Normal. The Spanish know how to live!
